Privacy Policy

LovePause ("LovePause", "we", "us") is a relationship app for couples, built around a guided Cooldown feature and shared "Our Space" for mood check-ins and notes. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it's used, and who it's shared with.

Information we collect

LovePause is designed to keep as much data as possible on your device and in your own iCloud account, rather than on servers we control. Specifically:

  • Profile & relationship details — names, relationship start date, and preferences you enter, stored locally on your device.
  • Our Space content — mood check-ins, shared notes, and pairing status, synced between you and your partner using Apple's CloudKit private/shared database, tied to your iCloud account. We do not operate a separate server that stores this content.
  • Journal entries and custom messages — stored locally on your device (and in your iCloud backup, if enabled).
  • Subscription & purchase status — handled by Apple's App Store (StoreKit) and our subscription infrastructure provider, RevenueCat, which receives an anonymized app user identifier and transaction data necessary to validate your purchase and unlock Premium features.   • Notification scheduling — reminders (daily notes, mood nudges, anniversaries) are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification framework. We do not operate a push notification server and do not collect device push tokens.

AI-personalized message suggestions

Where available, personalized message suggestions are generated on-device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models / Apple Intelligence framework. Your messages and context used to generate suggestions are processed on your device and are not sent to LovePause's servers.

Tone Check ("Before You Send")

Tone Check lets you review a draft message before sending it to your partner. The draft text and the resulting tone analysis are processed on-device, using Apple's on-device Foundation Models / Apple Intelligence framework where available, or a local rule-based analysis otherwise. Your draft messages are never transmitted to LovePause's servers, and we do not store or log the content of anything you check, on your device or anywhere else.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not show third-party advertising or use advertising trackers.
  • We do not read or access the content of your Our Space messages, mood entries, or journal — that data moves directly between your and your partner's devices via Apple's CloudKit, encrypted in line with Apple's standard iCloud protections.

Sharing with third parties

We share limited data only with service providers necessary to run the app:

  • Apple — for iCloud/CloudKit sync, push/local notification scheduling, App Store purchases, and on-device AI processing (including message suggestions and Tone Check).
  • RevenueCat — for subscription management, entitlement checks, and purchase analytics.

We do not share your data with data brokers or advertising networks.

Data retention & deletion

Our Space data persists as long as you remain paired with your partner via CloudKit. You can disconnect from your partner at any time in Settings, which stops further sync. To request deletion of any data associated with your account, contact us at the email below.

Children's privacy

LovePause is intended for adults in a relationship and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
